Netflix released this banger action thriller on 25 April, 2025, starring Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat in lead roles. The storyline revolves around a gangster disguised as a businessman and a con artist. Both seem to work as a team to get their hands on the precious Red Sun.
But are they really in a team, or are they cooking a plan B behind each other’s backs?

Jewel Thief Summary
An infamous Jewel thief known for his undetectable heist, Rehan Roy, is compelled to come out of his cover when a lethal businessman gangster threatens to entangle his family in a case of holding black money in the name of their charity hospital. To reach India without any issue, he fakes a surrender and cons two indian police officers to avoid any detection by the airport authorities.
Reaching India, he goes straight to meet Rajan Aulakh, the businessman gangster. As they meet, Rajan reveals the real reason for summoning him is to carry out the most difficult heist in history.
Rajan proposes a plan more like threatening him with the plan to steal King Gamunu’s previous Red Sun diamond from the Mumbai art gallery. Rehan agrees to carry out the heist only if he is given equal partnership in the profit.
Both men seem to be on common ground. However, both are secretly making a plan to double-cross each other. Rehan successfully plans an unsuccessful heist with the help of his hacker friend, whereas Rajan has planned to kick Rehan out of the race after the successful deal with Moosa.
But will Rajan be able to get Rehan first or vice versa?

The action thriller wraps with Rajan making his final move to get Rehan and winning the game. However, Rehan strikes him with a move two steps ahead of him, leaving him stunned and entangled to death. Therefore, Rehan ends up fooling Rajan and keeping all the profit to himself.
How Is The Jewel Thief Movie?
The beginning of the film is very gripping; however, as the story progresses, the film loses its touch. According to the critics, there are a lot of unnecessary twists and turns that make the movie not very engaging. Many have also titled it as a wannabe Race film.
